This extremely successful event was attended by over 80 members where Adrian Moyse and Michael Grey from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service gave an information packed talk on fire risk assessment, competency of assessors, a post Grenfell update and an insight into developments in the specialised housing sector. There was a great deal of interest in their presentation and engagement with the members.
Branch Chair Tudor Williams said “Our evaluation forms and discussion with members has highlighted the need for this event and I don't think our members were disappointed.”
We are extremely pleased at the willingness of both speakers in attendance to make their details available and continue the discussion.
The attendance was boosted by 4 student members from a local HE institution. It was a pleasure to welcome them and to see that the branch continues to grow and broaden its appeal. We look forward to their continued attendance and to ensuring we engage with them to reflect the demands of our 'Future Leaders.
Moving forward it was a great pleasure to inform members of our branch awards which will coincide with our AGM in May. Details were given out and more will go direct to members in the coming weeks. It was also pleasing to promote the forthcoming Alliance conference and exhibition at Cardiff City Stadium on April 1st.
We have a full programme of events ahead and a thriving, engaging branch and we look forward to continuing to provide a focused and rewarding agenda and opportunities for our members
