Understanding safe lifting operations

This Qatar Branch online event will delve into the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER). It will cover key aspects such as strength and stability, positioning and installation and lifting operations.

Participants will learn the requirements for strength and stability, positioning, installation, equipment marking and organisation of lifting operations.

By the end of the presentation, they will understand the scope and purpose of the regulations and be able to:

• identify the types of lifting equipment and operations governed by LOLER
• outline the responsibilities of employers, employees and competent persons
• outline the requirements of thorough examinations and regular inspections of lifting equipment
• summarise best practices to ensure safety in lifting.
