IOSH is intensifying its commitment to workplace health and safety in West Africa.

The IOSH West Africa Conference 2021 addresses professionals working in occupational safety and health (OSH), government bodies and those who wish to see wider and better implementation of health and safety policy and practice at work.

Over the conference’s two days, the programme will include interactive workshops, panel discussions and keynote presentations. They will demonstrate the value and contribution of OSH to business and the economy. They will make the case that in order to achieve long-term profitability, businesses – large and small – must invest in sustainable work practices that protect and nurture their workers. They will also explain what OSH professionals can do to make the most of their pivotal role to effect lasting change.

Participants will be able to ask questions of the speakers and both days will conclude with a round-up of the main points of debate and discussion.

The IOSH West Africa Conference 2021 represents a unique opportunity for participants to network with their peers and with other like-minded professionals – not only from different industrial sectors but also in different regions and countries.

This event builds on an amazing conference in Lagos organised by IOSH in January 2020, attended by over 900 people. The energy and enthusiasm that this event generated enabled IOSH to launch its West Africa Division – the first ever IOSH network on the continent of Africa. Since then many individuals have joined IOSH and many organisations have been seeking to work with us.

IOSH is intent on continuing to extend its influence and work with partners in business, government and civil society to make a safer and healthier future for workers, for businesses and for West Africa.
