Future Leaders Virtual Conference 2022

29-31 March 2022

Excitement is growing for our third Future Leaders Conference, which is fast becoming the essential annual event for new or early occupational safety and health (OSH) careerists.

The dates have been confirmed as Tuesday 29 to Thursday 31 March 2022 – three days devoted to your professional development.

With an overarching theme of navigating your career journey, this year’s event will once again bring together our global community of new and aspiring OSH professionals to hear from industry experts and learn from each other.

Each activity-filled day will have a different focus.

  • Tuesday 29 March – the individual and self-reflection.
  • Wednesday 30 March – collaboration, including influencing behaviours and enhancing communication skills.
  • Thursday 31 March – the future of work and its implications for the OSH professional, such as climate change, the ageing workforce and artificial intelligence .

Expect inspiring presentations, informative Q&As, stimulating panel debates, interactive workshops and multiple chances to network with fellow Future Leaders across the globe – all brought to you via a feature-packed virtual events platform.

The programme has been designed by our 24-strong Steering Group, incorporating feedback from Future Leaders Community members. It’s all about new and forward thinking, so attendees come away with fresh approaches to tackle the challenges of today and tomorrow. Content will be tailored to suit the needs of our Community, made up of IOSH members who hold Student Membership, or are aged 35 or under, or have fewer than five years’ professional experience.

Here’s a flavour of what delegates had to say about last year’s event.

“What a fantastic three days at the IOSH Future Leaders Virtual Conference. Lots to think about and ways to improve myself going forward.”
John Thompson – TechIOSH

“After attending day one of IOSH’s Future Leaders Conference, I had the opportunity to network, watch and gain insights on health and safety and ways to build intangible skills from the speakers and attendees with diverse backgrounds. I am definitely looking forward to day two.”
Arjun Nair, GradIOSH

“Thoroughly enjoyed the IOSH Future Leaders Conference… which included a variety of interesting presentations and discussions relating to future growth and evolution of health and safety, and how it relates to us all as aspiring future leaders. As the conference was virtual this year it meant we were able to network with other attendees from across the globe – France and Trinidad to name just two! Fantastic event, can't wait for next year!”
Ellis Fenwick TechIOSH
